Exercise Tips to remember to achieve a Flat Stomach

Below you will find some helpful exercise tips that you should keep in mind before and during your exercise routine. If you remember these tips you will better maximize your exercises and the use of your time. This way you will spend your time wisely and your efforts will not be in vain. Just look at these tips from time to time and you will maximize your flat stomach exercises.

Flat Stomach Tips

Do your exercises slowly and with control

Don't perform your stomach exercises quickly just to get through them. If you do each move slower and with full control you will achieve far better results. Even if doing them slower means that you have to do fewer reps, it will be far more useful to you than just rushing through them.

Continuous pain is a bad thing

We've all heard the expression 'No Pain No Gain'. So we may be inclined to continue even if you start experiencing high levels of pain. You should feel a 'burning' sensation as your muscles tire and more blood rushes to them, but if you start feel joint pain or any kind of a straining sensation that is concentrated in one spot, stop immediately and give your muscles a couple of days to recover. If the pain continues after that, seek professional attention.

If you are working your upper or lower abs, you should feel it there

If you are trying to work your lower abs and after your reps you don't feel them tightening, chances are that you are not doing it properly. The same goes for your upper abs. If you complete the assigned repetitions and you don't feel it working, you may want to check and see if you are doing them correctly.

Do proper crunches

Perform proper crunches about 3-4 times a week to train your ab muscles. You are better off avoiding sit-ups because they don't do enough to tone your stomach in any serious way.

Quality over quantity

It's all about getting the proper muscles to do the work and making sure that you aren't using muscles that allow you to cheat. It isn't about setting a new world record for repetitions and it isn't about getting through your assigned reps just so you can be done with them. If you do them wrong, there really isn't that much of a point to doing them at all.

Keep Breathing!

As you are doing ab exercises, you will be contracting your muscles and you will be compelled to hold your breath while doing it. You may not even realize that you are doing it, but when your muscles have continuous tension put on them, you have the tendancy to not breathe. But breathing while exercising is very important to making the exercise really matter. Inhale when your muscles relax and exhale when they contract.

Final Flat Stomach Reminders

Remember that there is no such thing as losing your stomach overnight, or a week, and probably not even a month. You have to work at it daily and remain consistent with your diet and exercise. It take some lifestyle changes to get the weight off and tone your muscles. A flat stomach will come with total body fitness and there aren't any shortcuts. You have to be dedicated and stick with it.
